I don't know much about 9, but OS X is a very different beast from any
MacOS I've seen before. I can't imagine that there is any "upgrading" that
will take place. The whole system will be installed clean. A few people
have OS X installed here on G4's and it's very clearly BSD/Next. It seems
to have nothing in common with good ol' MacOS. It sounds to me like these
folks are just trying to get you to dump hard-earned cash on something you
really don't need. Does anyone out there know from experience how the
transition to OS X goes? Also, if it will install on a blank disk then why
would it matter what OS you had before?
