IMHO, time is running out for the 8100's. While you do have a nice
system, a $200 upgrade (G3 card + Voodoo3-2000) for the 8500 will
stomp all over the 8100 in just about anything. But if you are going
to put money in the 8500, buy a 8600/9600 case, as those 8500's are a
real pain in the a$$ to get into.
You could probably sell the 8100 system for the upgrade price and
still have enough money to send a donation to the Mad Scientists Fund
(c/o of Me).

>Heck, maybe if I sold the 8100 I could use those proceeds to build this baby
>up! I like pondering this kind of stuff!

Do it ! Do it !

>To bad I can't do the same (back to topic) with a Duo230. Although if I sell

You can try selling in on ebay or parting it out (does it have a
fully complete set of eyelets on the bottom case ? What size HD ?)
Or you could modify it a bit for fun and see what you can make it do.

>Anybody want to buy a Duo230 with dead DuoDock, 3 dead batteries, and some

>drive...) $695, OBO?

Does the duodock have both springs working in the loading bay ? (Im
not sure what else to call them, but the two spring mounted doo-dads
that help eject the duo)
