This is what I figured was up here. I will give the control panels setting
a try as that can't hurt, as I have already reset the PRAM (via
cmd-opt-P-R and by removing the backup battery and letting it sit. . I
assume a physical problem, too, due to the drop. However, when I first
dropped it I promptly freaked out and turned it on and saw the garbled
screen. I then freaked out again and rebooted it, when I was presented
with a perfectly good screen. Nothing out of the ordinary. "GREAT!" I
said. "Maybe that screwy screen image was just a loose connector. Worse
comes to worse, I'll just reseat it when I get home." Well, when I got
home it was screwy again, and that really sucks. I figure that it might
be a hairline crack on the logic board that happened to make a clean
connection when I rebooted it after dropping it.

Well, I am already like Mad Dog in that introductory sense. I just don't
have the sick and perverted desire to create an entire army of patched up
Duos. All I want is my 2300 to be mint and my 230 to be cool. My 2300 is
currently in little pieces, Logic board removed, case stiffener removed,
Short of removing chips from the logic board, I couldn't take it apart any
more than I have now!

I will give this the old college try, but I have a feeling that it is a
lost cause. Will try spraying it down with the "Can O' Cold" as
recommended earlier, too.

I think it is a cable problem, but I'm no expert.

That would be helpful!
