Took me 3, maybe 4 minutes to find on Apple's site.
1. Went to www.apple.com
2. Click on "support"
3. Click on "downloads"
4. Click on "browse" rather than searching (often easier/quicker for me)
5. Click on "browse via ftp" (also easier for me)
6. Click on "Macintosh" directory (vs. apple_II, Newton etc.)
(note, at this point you'll find just about anything you'll
need for Mac OS issues in several subsequent directories)
7. Click on "PowerBook"
8. Click on "other_PB_SW" (other powerbook software)
9. Click on Duo_battery_patch_1... (and it downloads)
I did this in a logical order. I've also been down this road a few times.
When you take the same trip a several times you get to know the terrain.
For the older software it's a little more difficult since it's not in high
demand. But for the most part it's still there.
I suppose if I were a Windoze person I would know most of the best routes to
software downloads. Since I'm not then my next step is to rant about the
poor support that they provide.
Then I would go to a list of Windoze fans and complain about their favorite
platform. After which I would ask them for help. But hey, we're all open
minded here ;^)
Keep in mind that your looking for very outdated software. Quite a few years
old on a device that is 5 years old or more, and, STILL GOING STRONG.
OS7 is akin to Windows 3.1 (in age of course not ease of use). Apple doesn't
have to support this anymore. I'm surprised that they even keep some of
these old articles up to date.
For the most part, if you own a set of installation disks, or CDs for the
operating system you use, you have just about everything you need for Mac
system issues.
When you can't find something, we're hear to help. Even after a bashing ;^)
