Just a footnote on the resolder dialogue. Some of you may know how the 190/5300
classically has the loose AC adapter connection on the motherboard. For about $7 at
RadioShack I bought a kit which included the iron, solder, desoldering braid and so
on. With it I resoldered my 5300c connector without any problem and it works fine.
I have no soldering experience but know how to go slowly and be careful. Maybe I was
just lucky but it really seemed fairly easy to me. I'd give this 2300c Motherboard a
look and consider soldering it yourself. If you're willing to sacrifice its MB
anyway what have you got to loose?? Hope it works out for you. The 2300 is still my
favorite laptop for its utility and elegance.
