Me again.
In addition to the 2300 I mention in another post I have a second 2300 that
has problems. This one boots fine, has a good main & PRAM battery. The
problem is the video.
In 8-bit (256) color I get a weird pattern. It looks like every other
vertical line (about a pixel wide) is not working. They looks like vertical
white lines. If I switch to 16 colors or 4 color the vertical line get even
wider. In 1-bit (B&W) the lines are huge, about an eighth inch wide.
In 8-bit grayscale everything looks great.
If I switch to thousands of color I get the usual 640x400 screen, the lines
go away but the screen appears to loose green (or gets more red).
Zapping PRAM (or resetting Power manager) won't help.
Does this sound like bad VRAM?
Thanks again! -makmac
