This is regarding Sidney Ho's response regarding a do-it-yourself heat pad
made out of aluminuim foil between the harddisk and the 2400's base:
>To better address the heat dissipation problem, I put compressed folded
>aluminum foil (about 3mm thick) under the 9.5 mm drive, with plastic film
>insulation between it and the drive.
Sidney, what kind of "plastic film insulation" did you use? Do you glue the
pad on the base of the 2400? I'm asking this because I'll be replacing my
HD within a month or so and the only ones available around here are 9.5mm
drives, I think. I seem to recall you recommending this heat pad for the
processor as well, right?
Or should I just try to get heat dissipation pads at the local electronics
shop?
