in most cases, this is caused by a crimp in the ribbon cable that goes
between the display and inside the laptop. If you press along the outer
plastics at various points, you will probably get it to go away while you
press down, which will verify what I would conclude.
you can get another ribbon cable. sunremarketing has them....as far as I
know.
