With that much RAM, 8.6 would probably run quite nicely. Definately get at
least 8.1, I've personally slimmed 8.1 down to use about 6 megs of RAM and
20 megs HD space. But, 8.6 should work very well. I haven't tried 9.1 on a
Duo-class system so I couldn't tell you much about it, but my gut tells me
that it would be slower. Can't say much about power management either since
all my Duo batteries are toasted.
