I didn't use any jumpers when I installed a Toshiba 6GB drive. They aren't
necessary.
BTW, I love old VW vans (and air cooled VWs in general). There's something
about the way they smell that's so unique to VW air cooled vehicles. I loved
my old, faded red '71 beater. I bought it from a farmer who had it next to a
barn. After I cleared out the mice and stuck another engine in it, it ran
like a champ. Couldn't get my wife to ride around in it though. Something
about not being caught dead in public...
And I'll bet if people living in earthquake zones built their homes with zip
ties they would hold up much better since those ties are so strong yet
flexible. Any repairs would be quick and easy ;^)
