For one, networking. It's very unlikely that there is a way to get ethernet working in Linux or mkLinux on a Duo. Eventually, the serial port driver will be depreciated as well. Another would be ADB. Sound is not, and probably will never be supported. The display will work, but only at the resolution and depth that you boot at. To me, a Linux box is nearly useless without networking support.

Technically, any Linux distribution can use a NuBus enabled LinuxPPC kernel. The most popular LinuxPPC distro is LinuxPPC. The current version is 2000Q4, and it's really good. It's based upon RedHat 7.0, I believe. Basically, to support NuBus machines, you download a new kernel from http://nubus-pmac.sourceforge.net, then unzip it and place it into the System Folder. Then, instead of using the default kernel for whatever distribution you choose, you tell BootX to use the kernel that you downloaded. I know this doesn't really make sense to you right now, but as soon as you start looking at the installation directions for Linux, you will understand this and will be quite easy. The one good thing I can say about Linux on Macs is that it has the easiest way to boot a new kernel I have ever seen. To be more precise, it's the only system that uses a GUI for the bootloader. Everything (And I mean _everything_) else uses a text-based bootloader where changing the settings involves cryptic commands usually entered into a text file. Again, hope this helps.
