Thanks Tom and Eric.  I transferred the files via Ethernet/
AppleTalk from an iBook [that has to be sent into Apple Repair] to the
PB2400 with a 6GB drive.

I still have the startup problem doing a rebuild with TechTool.  I guess
I'll try DiskWarrior next.

For future reference, what is the largest size of files that I can transfer
(either via Ethernet/AppleTalk or via an external hard drive/CD) to the
PB2400 without running into this problem?  In my original transfer, I did
copy over some 2.5GB of the 2.8GB in one fell swoop.
