Please help me (1) get out of this jam; and (2) sort out this file transfer issue.
1. My startup problem with my PB2400 persists. Only the HD icon appears on the desktop, and then nothing else appears including icons for trash, aliases, the control strip. Here's what I've tried to no avail: zapping the PRAM; Option-Command desktop rebuild; TechTool desktop rebuild; DiskWarrior directory replacement; Norton Disk Doctor. How can I fix this baby? Am I looking at a clean install? Will that take care of the corruption? 2. Leaving SCSI disk mode aside, I can't believe that all you with maxxed out Comets (with at least over 4Gb HDs) can't fill up all that extra space with file transfers from external drives (HD or CD) or appletalk network connections. To add to the details below, I "mounted" an iBook HD via file sharing on my PB2400, and then copied files onto the PB HD. What about transferring files from CD-Rs I've burned on the iBook? Isn't all this kosher? > >> From: Glenn R. Fong Thursday, November 15, 2001 02:50 >>> > >> I just transferred some 2.8GB of files to my PB2400, and I have startup > >> problems.
