Diving WAAAAYYY back into my memory, I had bought 9 beige G3's from a company
(all were smelly as they WERE owned by RJR Tobacco); during the cleaning
process the "warranty" label came off one of the logics (covers the MHZ
jumpers). I got the 300 up to 350/360 or so (don't remember exactly how
fast), but then chatted with one person that had swapped a faster G3 chip
into the slot, overclocked it (and added a fan), and had a 450 G3 before
Apple offered one. As I had to sell all the units (poverty is a pain, but so
is owing money...I'm too Scots!!) I never tried the superoverclock trick.

Several sites offer upgrades for the beige G3's, should be easy to search the
web for "beige" "G3" and "overclock" to see what you get. You should easily
get 300 mhz out of the 266 chip.

And, as Scott states:

<And as for overclocking, I don't have any

<experience with the Beige G3s but I bet you almost anything it could be

<done. Just make sure to add decent cooling.

he is absolutely correct. Think a standard Pentium cooler worked FB on my
unit, just added it to the top of the heatsink with some screws which held it
in place against the fins, got power from the HD power connector.

Cheers;
Andrew

(PS. FB = "fine business"....been playing w/ham radio too much)
