Hate to be the voice of disagreement here, but I think I'd skip the Beige G3
altogether. If you've got the cash, get a B&W G3 (minimum), if not, get a
9600 or 9500 (9500 would be cheaper)

Apple has made it abundantly clear that they are soon going to stop
supporting the Beige G3 altogether in OS X. First it was the SCSI, and
serial that they didn't support. Now it's the Rage Pro onboard video. Soon,
it will be the whole system. At any rate, the 9500/9600 has the capability
to be expanded to much more RAM. They can usually run a bus speed of ~55MHz
to the Beige G3's 66MHz. The 9500/9600 has 6 PCI slots and no onboard video
where the Beige G3 has 3 PCI slots and onboard video that doesn't compare to
most modern video cards.

Personally, I'd try to swing an AGP G4 of some sort... :-)
