I know your not. I'm just enjoying the debate and don't see this as arguing
or slamming each others machines. Just a friendly debate. (kindaSorta ;^)

My old Wallstreet supported external displays up to 1280x1064, however it
could only mirror at it's native 1024x768 or the built-in display was turned
off while driving an external monitor at higher resolutions (or lower). I
always wished it could do an extended desktop. I had toyed with getting one
of the PCMCIA video out cards but couldn't justify the expense for as little
as I would have used it.

I suppose this is why it doesn't bother me that the new iBook won't do an
extended desktop.

Something else that surprises me is that I don't mind the smaller screen
size of the iBook compared to the Wallstreet. I'm sure it's because they
share the same resolution and the screen is so nice and clear.

It is nice isn't it. However I think my Wallstreet had a little better
disbursement of light than the iBook does (or any of the other PowerBook G3s
after it for that matter).

However I would have to say that the 3400/3500 (Kanga) series actually had
the best display as far as uniformity goes. I loved my old Kanga but what a
horse it was to lug around! Best PowerBook sound system though (built-in).

No offence taken. It's fun to debate. Too bad we can't hear the subtle
inflections in each others typing so we can tell there is no animosity. :^)

Again, I would have loved to own a 2400 but they were out of my price range.
Prior to the iBook, they could command a price in the iBook range with a G3
and all the accessories. I had to settle for a Duo280c (and 2300) to enter
the sub-notebook realm. Always hoping to afford a 2400.

Even when the new iBooks (dual USB) came out I still couldn't afford one. I
truly lucked out getting my iBook 500/10/128/Combo for just $850. I was just
in the right place at the right time. Even then I was digging into the
mortgage payment so I had to quickly sell off my Wallstreet and a couple
other PowerBooks I've been hanging onto. But it was actually worth it.
