[snip] It is propierty but it's not as difficult to handle as I thought after I spent hours dechipering the spec sheets. The video side has (3) 4 bit video for each color channels (for max of 4096 unique colors), which can be handle by a 4 bit ADC. The clock (25.18 MHz typical, max of 31.5MHz), 5v, and ground is all that's left to drive the monitor. The specs I'm looking at is for the LCD module with 31.5KHz refresh rate and I believe the module used with Duo 280c has 35KHz refresh rate (Mac standard for 640x480) but that shouldn't be a problem as the spec sheet mentioned the module can be used at any Horizontal higher than 30KHz. With three 4-bit ADC chips and a couple support compoments for the clock, I think the LCD module can be driven right from a standard VGA signal. I still don't have the information on the separate inverter board but I suspect it uses 12v DC. The brightness control seems to be tied directly to the inverter itself, and I can live without the onboard speaker. It was never good enough anyway. :p ^_^ (PS I don't have the information for Duo 2300 display but if it's by Sharp then it can be used the same way as the 280c display plus 18 bit video (6 bit per channel) for a total of 262,144 colors. And it's about 1" bigger too) ---------- Duo/2400 List, The friendliest place on the Net! A listserv for users and fans of Mac subportables.
