Having had a few seconds to look at the front of the case, it seems that 
milling out one of the "slots" to the left of the floppy in the front of the 
case would allow a slotloader installation just inside (lineup would be 
critical....but possible).  I'll play with it some over the next few 
weeks....I'll let the list  know what I do.

As for the 128 logic, I'll check out eBay.  It is orig...also have an orig. 
512K "FatMac" logic.  Hmmmm....finance the LCD mod...that's the ticket!
