>>I have a 280c that's standing on its graveyard. You'd have to build an interface to allow it to connect to VGA. The LCD only has the drivers for the scan lines, etc....no interface for standards such as VGA et al. The interface circuitry is on the logic board by the VRAM.....proprietary is the word. For external interface the logic to do so is built into the interface device (e.g. minidock), which would be the only way I see to do what you wish. Now, if you want to get fancy.....take the 280 logic, a PeeCee CPU cooler, a cheap 5/12V P/S and do the ADB mod to get keyboard/mouse connectivity. Stuff the LCD into the place of the PET monitor....the logic underneath w/the power supply (12V hooked up to the battery terminals...the P/S must be regulated, and watch polarity!). Get an older mini-ADB keyboard to sit where the PET keyboard was mounted. Mouse is external, natch (mice were self-articulating at that time <<grin>>). If the bent frame is indeed the problem, use the PeeCee cooler to keep the '040 cool, scrap the frame, mount the mike up high in the case, get a big SCSI drive (you'll have to build your own cable...power the HD from the P/S) and you'll have the fastest PET on earth! Heck, with the floppydock, you could forget the ADB mod...just hook up to the ADB port on the dock, and set the floppy to one side, mount a CD on the other side (if you have a minidock)...many possiblities. Hmmm....I have an old 128 and an old Apple IIc sitting in the closet and a 280 on the shelf (the 40 mhz hacked machine). Think I have just invented a project for myself!!
