You asked for it...

Whilst doing Desktop Support... Lady complains (before 8am) that the color
printer on the second floor isn't printing and the LCD panel is black... Go
by there about 8:15ish, guy is there getting his printouts, ask him if it is
working, he say's "working great!"... It just needed to be turned on...

Whilst doing Desktop Support... Manager type complains that the previous
week, while he was out of town, someone installed a program and now his
computer (PC) won't boot... Go up to the 'puter, hit the floppy eject
button, press the space bar, and walk out saying "it's fixed"...

Whilst doing Field Engineer crap... Desktop Support guy from *censored*
swears up and down that the printer's broke, won't print shaded areas in the
Excel spreadsheet properly... I check it out, printer works, other people
who print to it print fine, lady with problem prints fine from other
spreadsheets and applications just fine, but the 14MB spreadsheet that pulls
data from three different databases and manipulates same data and has
different shaded areas differentiating data types, prints with some shaded
areas just blank with no text. Can "copy" and "paste" into another sheet,
new sheet prints just fine... $25/hour for hardware repair, 3 hours playing
with spreadsheets and drivers, because desktop support guy can't tell the
difference between hardware failure and software failure...

Whilst doing Field Engineer crap... Lady calls up, remanufactured toner
cartridge dumping toner in her printer. I tell her to replace the toner
cartridge (no charge). She says she can't afford another toner cartridge,
just come out and fix it. I tell her that I'll just replace the toner
cartridge. And charge her more for the toner cartridge I put in than Office
Despot will, plus charge her $75/hour labor plus $35 trip charge. She keeps
calling back for two weeks asking me to fix her toner cartridge, and every
time I say the same thing. Finally she stops calling, I call her, and she
says she replaced the toner cartridge and everything is fine now...

These really happened to me... I could tell you lots more...

Doign computer support reminds me almost every day "never underestimate the
power of human stupidity"...
