Eh, I personally have had no end of troubles with iCab, crashing and
such. Some people seem to share my experiences while others swear by
iCab, so there must be something different ;)

USR originally promoted X2, but by now any 56k modems should be v.90
compatible. If it's not, there should be a firmware/drive upgrade
avaiable to make it full v.90. Even so, if he's getting connected at
53k, X2 vs. v.90 shouldn't be a huge difference. Maybe some.

Yeah, tabs are great :) That and the ability to turn off popups. That by
itself is almost enough to make me use it most of the time.
