Brandy,

Good to see that you are still alive and, presumably, kicking.

You never failed to raise a smile when you posted on the joys of owning and
using the best laptop that Apple (Japan) ever produced. Ah, the joys of racking
up courier fees to send my 2400 to MCE for the latest upgrade to be installed.
Good to know that DTT is stil in business and is able to keep these machines
working.

Alex, good luck in getting your 2400 into good working order.

Ironically, my replacement for the 2400, a 2006 black MacBook is ailing and at
the menders. It may be on the way out. I am feeling the tug of a fully-specc'd
MacBook Air. Even more ironically, I thought that I had future-proofed the
MacBook by installing a 512 Gb SSD in order to make the beast quieter and to
keep it cooler. What is wrong with my MacBook? Overheating! Makes me quiet
nostalgic for the little 2400.

Regards,

Ian Thomas.

Hello Brandy

I am much obliged by your reply. I have not taken any action yet. If indeed
English support was installed, and yes I do know what you mean, how could I -
a) check and b) take action to remove Japanese or prioritize the language?

I use to use Mac OS 9 on a daily basis so I know where most of the menus are by
looking at their position, like restart, shutdown, copy, paste etc. and I
remember what a lot of the icons look like.

I also have a Pismo that I can use for reference.

I tried some searches on the internet but have not been too successful.

If you have some further insight or steps I would be most obliged.

Kind regards
Alex
