I have had that problem, although I had it with the current version of File
Synchronization (MacOS 8.6), which is the descendant of 7.5.3's File
Assistant. I had to delete the File Synch (File Assistant) preferences from
the Preferences folder to fix the problem. This will cause File Assistant
to forget everything that it ever knew about which volumes and/or folders
you want to synchronize, so you will have to do that set-up over again. In
my case, it has worked for over a month since then. I synchronize at least
once per day when I am not out of town.
