I love this idea. This would also obliquely address something else that I see asked for quite a bit: the ability to explain one's interests. Granted, it's a bit of a stretch to go from interest to tag group to tag to entry tagged with that, but the connection is there. It would also be interesting, if doing this, to allow the same tag to be associated with multiple interests. For example, I have an interest that is from a hilariously bad transcription of a voice post, and I have some interests that make no sense except to people who went to camp with me.
