For the benefit of those who don't know, the old DX-LIST on YahooGroups has
been shut down. The new DX-IS list has replaced it.

This occured for a simple non-technical reason. The amateur who was listed as
the list "owner" became a Silent Key. None of the remaining moderators had
ownership rights to the list. As a result, they couldn't make certain
modifications or updates that only an owner can do.

So, you might think, why not ask Yahoo to change the ownership? From what I
understand, they won't, citing privacy issues.

So the only solution was to create a new list with new owners. Ironically,
DX-LIST still exists, but in a dormant state -- you can't join it, you can't
post to it. But since only the owner can delete it...

Those of you who remember how, ah, volatile DX-LIST could sometimes get, be
advised that most of the active (and re-active) members of DX-LIST moved over
to DX-IS. So don't throw away your asbestos (or EPA safe equivalent)
undergarments. Remember: The more things change, the more they stay the same!

First, log into Yahoogroups. Then go directly to this:

http://groups.yahoo.com/group/DX-IS/

You should be able to join from there.
