Yes most of his operation was on phone and CW was "on request", when I worked
him on SSB on the only band I could, I felt ashamed to ask him for a CW qso
because the pile up was getting bigger - thinking that I didn't want my call be
thrown around on the clusters...now that's one I'm still missing..so much for
thinking about "the deserving" ...to think that today many can care less about
the rest in a pile up....how times have changed........

Pretty good for a "one man show"

Chuck Brady N4BQW, fresh from 3Y0C, showed some slides in Cape Town. He'd
made over 20 000 contacts, despite spending much time fixing broken antennas.

That was a one-man show, Chuck Brady (now SK). I never was able to hear
him. I don't think he was anywhere near the level of an operation like
VP8SSI, the two big 3Y0 operations, VK0IR, etc. He satisfied a few but by
no means moved Bouvet much on the wanted list.
