I have tried to support either the software I use, or other common programs like N1MM. WriteLog is actually a real problem. N1MM is easy. If someone can't convert their log and sends me the ADIF file, it's usually easy to fix. The software only looks at the abbreviation. It is up to the user to choose the correct state from the drop-down menu.
