One further note in support of an actual Icom CT-17 Level Converter. The CT-17 allows connection of up to four different pieces of Icom equipment through a single serial RS232 connection. In my case I control both my ICOM-756Pro and ICOM PW-1 amp through the CT-17. The after market cable connectors are significantly cheaper on a one to one basis, but if you need to purchase three or four of them the cost differential shrinks. Not to mention the need for multiple serial ports on the computer - a commodity that is getting harder and harder to find. Gary AL9A
