Hi Jack, Thanks for the explanation.
Would it be possible to have icons available as options on the tool bar that would allow us to connect both the keyer and rigs? For those of us that like the keyboard, also have those selections available in the hotkey definition table? For many of us, the need to turn on the rig(s) with DXbase is not always required. For sure it would be great if I did not need to turn on my both of my rigs and the keyer interface just to work on my logbook. For instance, and I am sure with others, for LoTW maintenance I only need to use the program for import of my contest ADIF file and export of my LoTW files and later import the matched QSLs from LoTW. At this time the rigs are not needed. The Dxbase Not Connected' error messages sure tags our immediate need, but later when we restart DXB then there is no message saying what state the rigs or the keyer are in. It is only when I go to log a casual QSO or send some CW then I realize everything is no connected and now I have go into the set-up to reconnect everything. I am sure others will 'chime in' with other personal observations or needs. Last, I am sure you have thought this through further most of us. Why not just continually poll the rigs as you do with the keyer and show the results on the DXbase status bar as a frequency or even a simple connected to rig(s)? Thanks in advance, Eric - VE3GSI. > -----Original Message----- > From: Jack > Sent: January 15, 2007 5:17 PM > To: Larry - K2GN; Michael Hatzakis Jr MD; [email protected] > Subject: Re: [Dxbase] Start Sequence > > > Larry, > > Nice idea but unfortunately we don't know ( in software ) whether you > intentionally left your radio turned off or you didn't.
