After reading a few posts the other day regarding dxbase and vista I thought id
post my findings. Ive had it running with a ts-570 and a usb to com cable and
it worked fine although slow on switching frequency's on the 570 and it never
did read the frequency correctly from the rig. Now this is dxbase 2005 and yes
i need to upgrade . I just bought a new 765proIII after debating on a purchase
of a 746. Funny how it only takes a couple bad rig reviews to make a person
spend another 1200.00 :) I bought an Icom fake CT-17 cable from ebay and I also
got a great deal on an edgeport usb to 2 comport unit. I downloaded the Vista
drivers for the edgeport and it seems to work fine although i havent tried
split operation from a cluster spot yet. The only thing I cant get to work is
the dxbase internal cw keyer. If anyone has any input on that id appreciate
hearing it. In dxbase 2005 the rig is running as a proII instead of a pro III
as the pro III wasnt out yet. I dont know if there is
 any di
fference in the radio ini for a proII or a proIII but so far so good. The only
hang up was setting the rig to the address that was in the ini file and then it
worked fine. Im set at 64h and 19200 and its not as fast as it could be
switching bands or frequency's but it works.. Last but not least.. I read
all the reviews on the 756 proIII and the 746 and also went back and read the
ts-570 reviews. No comparison from the 570 to the 756 . This thing hears stuff
i never heard before but of course it comes with a price
.
