As always, Joe WA6AXE had the solution. Yes, I had not set the band plan mapping for rig 2. I had looked at it a long time back but saw just "Radio" and "Rotor" entered for all bands/modes so assumed this applied to both radios and therefore nothing else was needed. The dialogue box is a bit tight and showed "Radio" for all entries but when I expanded the header title for RADIO, then I could see that all the entries were actually for "Radio-1" Everything is now working fine for both rigs. My thanks to Joe for his immediate spot on help and to all the others who kindly made suggestions.
