Yes, it will compile on 7.3 if you do that but it won't compile on 6.8, so we 
can't post it.

i40evf will be updated by early Q1 2017. Otherwise, the latest drivers compile

Could you point me towards these newer versions?  The latest "i40evf stable" 
driver (version 1.5.14) is from April and doesn't compile on 7.3.
