I have an Ebox running with the Hardy server beta and the ebox alpha

system to a Ubuntu/Ebox "production" system?
Although you shouldn't experience many problems upgrading to the last stable
version, I would recommend the following:
First of all, make a configuration backup of eBox, system->backup.
Get a spare machine or a virtual machine and install the last stable version.
Restore the configuration backup or configure it manually again. Save changes
and do a thorough check of the functionality you are using.
Or you can also try in your test machine to install the very same server beta
version, restore/reconfigure eBox and upgrade the whole system. Carry out
proper checks to see if everything is working ok.
wish I had all this spare cpu/computers but in this case it is not so,
all available computers in this small office is running production
apps/being used.
I was thinking:
1. make sure user files are backed up
2. try config backup (am not sure that works/ed in the 7.10 alpa Ebox
version)
3. update Ubuntu server from beta to stable to 7.10
4. if all works on to 8.04
5. if all works on to add the ppa resource for ebox
6. do an aptitude safe-upgrade
if things go awry along the way, fall back on saved user data/files and
do a fresh installation with following restoration of user files,
reconnection of windows xp clients etc
???
