Gee Al, I think that survey from Australia addresses the woman as
engineers thing, but guess what? Women are the least represented in
the engineering school.

Of course the value of having an engineer or scientist have a formal
education, training and certrification is to allow good science to
prevail. Of course, that new Florida law which has not only the head
of the agency and the six branch offices as political appointees of
indeterminate tenure, but has now included additional levels down to
the P.E. supervisor are now select exempt. Now real scientists with
courage and integrity can still say, "No! I won't. It is against my
standards of certification..." and their bosses can now say, "Of
course. And we respect that. And we have made a political decision
to replace you. Bye bye."
