Maybe instead of engaging in vegetarian evangelism yet again, perhaps
we can launch off on a different tangent, monoculture
vs. permaculture.
I think it is easy for vegetarians to point their fingers as the meat
industry. That industry is a major cause of environmental
destruction. But it isn't just the animals, it is all the food that
is grown to feed them. These crops are major cause of erosion, and
the depletion of the water tables. If you throw in time spent growing
the crops, animals displaced by the cropland, the fossil fuels used to
plant and harvest the crops, the chemicals used to protect the
crops... then the hidden cost of producing meat is much too high, and
it is taking its toll on the environment.
But the same can be said of human food production, the wheat for our
bread, the rice and beans, and even produce takes its toll on the
environment.
How does monoculture affect feminism? or even racism?

as humyns on this planet...we
are more important than the animals we choose, or choose not to consume, as
unfair as that may be, humyns are in a position of power over the earth.
its what we choose to do with that power that will make the difference, not
what we choose to eat.

isnt this just like saying:
men are in a position of power over women or whites are in power over
blacks, etc...
animals are SLAVES of humans.... just like blacks were slaves of whites.
we gather them up, torture them, refuse to give them freedom, and kill them
for our own profit and gain....
