The discussions on this list don't seem to have anything to do with the description of
the list that I received when I joined. Is anyone out there doing anything with regard
to women and environment? Or is everyone who is doing anything discouraged from
discussing this topic on this list because the discussions don't seem to be pertinent?

I just joined this list myself. I come from a university- trained musical,
socio -anthro background in music education , religion and ethics. I am a
Unitarian -Universalist and Humanist.
One of the reasons I joined the list was to see what Feminist methodologies
we are developing for encting the principles of Human Rights and Feminism
to save the environment.
One of the many presentations I will be giving this fall, is a discussion of
Feminism and the "new Humanism" . Environment will, of course, be one of
the issues. This wil be given Oct. 18, 1996 to he Humanist Association of
Ottawa. One of our members is Blodwen Piercy- a well known Canadian
scientist and feminist.
On this list , or in our discussions, I look forward to seeing reviews of
books on the subject, differnet approaches to this field from diverse
aspects, experiential "testimony" from those who've worked in the fields of
environment and ethics and feminist groups, and news of conferences,
seminars and other news items of actual groups of Feminsits working on these
issues.
What Feminist scientists do we have with us in this discussion group? Who
are the eticists-philosophers-theologians in this discussion list? Do we
have archives which women like me can consult ?
I look forward to many replies about this.

"kick-start" into autumn discussions.
