And let's not forget how some countries became "industrialized",
with its men and women commiting every type of mass violence on the
books against other peoples... So much violence that they
don't even count these people when talking about issues of
violence... they're conveniently erased from the map, there's
no accountability for what's been done and what still goes on.

Vera,
When I read your posting it made me think of all the war/genocide horrors
that are occurring everyday in places like Algeria, Bosnia, Nigeria, and
countless other places on this planet. Just the violence factor itself,
regardless of the gender of the contributors to this violence is yet another
worthy path to explore and discuss. Although I understand that the US has
limits on how much it can do in international affairs, I am still feel as if
we are standing still and
closing our eyes to the genocide happening in other places in the world...
