I've been lurking quietly for a while now and have been pondering a
question. I hope the list members can help.
Does ecofeminism provide a more adequate prespective from which to
judge environmental issues than do, say, social ecology or deep
ecology? Or more specifically, is the logic of domination always
gender based, and if it isn't, doesn't that recommend social ecology
as a more thorough-going methodology?

not an answer...but my reading of some of the literature is that there are
what might be called social ecofeminism and deep ecofeminism, ecofeminist
approaches roughly representing the social ecology and deep ecology
perspectives, respectively. this even with the debates/discussions between
ecofeminist and deep ecology perspectives, such as in _Environmental
Ethics_, that really don't get into some/many of the issues raised by
social ecology and social ecofeminism, not to mention the environmental
racism/env justice literature or related issues in history and philosophy
of science
