I am a vegan and more restricted than most vegans. At 39 years old I was
depressed and constantly unwell (physically and emotionally). I could gain 3
pounds in a day and I was beginning to find out that I only felt good when I
ate veggies.

I started reading about fasting and detoxification and found that my problems
could be related to food allergies.

I went to two reputable allergists and got tested. Lo and behold they found
out that I was allergic to yeast, soy, milk, beef, casein (animal protein),
beans, lettuce, mold, fish, nuts, dust, sugars, vinegar and shrimp. I was
given a choice of taking shots or becoming a highly restricted vegan. I chose
the latter option.

It is now almost a year and a half later and I feel great; I dropped almost 70
pounds without evidence of weight loss. The depression has lifted and I never
get colds or flus anymore.

My optometrist even confirmed that my vision had radically improved to the
point of needing a totally new prescription. One of the allergic reactions
to food is edema even in the optical areas of the body.
