WITTENBERG UNIVERSITY, Springfield, Ohio.  Tenure-track.  Instr. or Asst.
Prof.  ABD or Ph.D.  Six courses, three/semester.  Salary competitive.
Funding for development of teaching and research available.  AOS and AOC
open, with special interest in candidates able to offer philosophy courses
in one or more of the following: African, East Asian, Indian, Latin
American, Native American, and/or African American.  Other areas must
complement and not significantly overlap current strengths in the
department:  philosophy of science (including phil. psych.), ethical theory,
and social/political.  The Department of Philosophy is revising its
curriculum, and candidates should be willing to participate in this process.
Final review of applications will begin Nov. 10.  Applications should
include the following:  (1) letter of application, (2) c.v., (3) three
letters of reference, (4) a writing sample, (5) evidence of promise in
scholarly activity, and (6) evidence of (a) teaching excellence, (b)
willingness to teach outside research specialties (including an
interdisciplinary course for first year students), and (c) interest in
developing intellectual relationships with students beyond the classroom.
