The Committee on Social Thought and Analysis, an interdisciplinary program
at Washington University, has just got approval to recruit for an position
in social theory that will be tenurable in Philosophy or Political Science.
The job advertisement calls primarily
for an assistant professor, but the possibility of making an offer to a
distinguished senior professor is a real one.
WASHINGTON UNIVERSITY, St. Louis, MO., Committee on Social Thought &
Analysis, invites applications for a position in either the Philosophy
or the Political Science department. This position is nominally at the
Assistant Professor level, but outstanding senior candidates will also
be considered. AOS: Philosophy of the Social Sciences; Modern and
Contemporary Social Theory. The STA program sponsors an
interdisciplinary undergraduate major and has strong curricular and
collaborative connections with Philosophy and with a number of
outstanding programs in the social sciences. Preference will be given to
candidates who demonstrate a strong interest in teaching and conducting
research in an innovative interdisciplinary environment. The teaching
load is two courses each semester. Salary competitive. Ph.D.
