The following ad will appear in Jobs for Philosophers, Numbers 147 and 148:
OHIO UNIVERSITY, Athens, OH. The Department of Philosophy invites
applications for b a tenure-track position either at the entry level or
more senior faculty level from persons with expertise in feminist philosophy
that involves teaching and ongoing publishing in the field. Additional areas
of expertise that would be attractive to the department include, but are not
limited to, the following: continental philosophy, 19th and 20th century
American pragmatism, applied ethics, philosophy of racism, non-western
philosophical and religious thought. Appointment begins fall quarter 2001.
PhD in philosophy required. Responsibilities include teaching introductory
philosophy courses and courses in areas of expertise. Salary is negotiable
at a competitive level. Send CV, at least three letters of reference, and a
short writing sample to Prof. Elizabeth Collins, Chair, Search Committee,
Department of Philosophy, 202 Ellis Hall, Ohio University, Athens, OH 45701.
The position will remain open until filled. The committee will begin to
