It seems to me that the "best" energy source by far is the sun (solar  
power), inasmuch as it is the source of all life (and most of the energy) on  
this 
planet.  That the technology has not yet advanced to the point  that we can 
take full advantage of direct solar power, means that it is not  yet "feasible" 
on a broad scale.  Yet the energy and expense associated  with the production, 
transportation, processing, transmission, and distribution  of fossil 
fuel-based power, not to mention the political ramifications of  safeguarding 
those 
long supply chains and the limits to the oil/gas/coal  resources themselves, 
makes it a wonder that we are not devoting considerably  more attention and 
funding to solar technology.  Last year I read "The  Solar Economy - Renewable 
Energy for a Sustainable Global Future" by Hermann  Scheer, and I highly 
recommend 
it to you and to everyone on this list.
