Yes, I agree, it is a wonderful list, thank you for compiling it! 

I haven't seen "Ishmael" by David Quinn (1992) on the list (nor the sequel "My 
Ishmael" by the same author).
What do people think about it? 

I think it makes some important points very clear (even though in some parts it 
simplifies some things a bit). In my view it makes a good introductory reading 
to inspire young people to go into ecology and/or environmental sciences.

We hosted David Quammen for Darwin Day last week, and it 
was fun getting to know a bit
about him. He is currently working on a book about viruses 
incl. epidemiological dynamics...
