Just a bit of clarification re version identifiers on the ISA and GS:
There is no ISA version 2000. The first valid version id for the ISA was
00200. Furthermore, there is no relationship between the ISA version id and
the GS version id.
The ISA version id relates to and includes only those constructs contained
in the X12.5 Interchange Control Standard. That is, the
ISA control version number identifies syntax, segments, and data elements
used to specify the control structures defined in X12.5
i.e., all segments outside the GS/GE envelope
GS version and release numbers Identify the syntax, transaction sets,
segments, and data elements that are used within and inclusive of the GS/GE
envelope Interchange control version number in the ISA completely
independent of the version and release numbers in the GS
These two versions are independent and may be mixed and matched with no
violation of the X12 standards. They are not paired either.

====== While we're at it, why do some people spec ISA Version 2000 with a
GS
Version 4010? Because only some Docs are being updated from 2000 to 4010
and
there could be a mix of 4010 and 2000 GS's in one ISA? Which would lead to
the next question of would a 4010 ISA and 2000 GS be invalid?
