The ASN is usually structured as: SOPI
Shipment, Order, Pack, Item

The Pack part represents the carton in which the goods are shipped.  Each 
Carton usually has a unique 20 digit number.  The label has a space at the 
bottom where this number is printed (in a bar code).

Generating ASNs is a long, complicated topic ;-)  
(That's where we make the big bucks....)
