I have calls into some of our trading partners (grocery product
vendors) and while I wait for them to call let me ask the following:

1 - If we start using ASN's, what are the "rules"? Meaning, would
there be any difference in verifying the delivered cases? There's
no real guarantee on case count so how would it be worked out if
there truly are mistakes on the amount of cases shipped if they
don't match the ASN - via normal customer service calls?
2 - Does the shipper/trucker know that the receiver has gotten an
ASN and would they be instructed to then "drop-n-go" or would they
still need to go through whatever receiving dock mechanics that
normally transpire (hand in paper work, open the truck, etc.)?
3 - We use several EDI brokers for many smaller manufacturers and
one of our EDI brokers stated they don't get involved with ASN's -
which I find odd. Does this make sense?

Thanks,
Walter
