There are currently three documents just for this purpose (879, 888, 889).
However, these documents aren't used a lot since they were very difficult to
implement. Today, a lot of companies have gone to data synchronization.
There is an organization "1 SYNC" that has information regarding the
standards for suppliers and retailers.

Subject: [SPAM][EDI-L] EDI tran for product list?

We are in the grocery distribution business and use transactions now of
810, 850, 820, 997.
We always have trouble getting the most up to date product descriptions
and sizes from our manufacturers and I was wondering if there is a
transaction that is available for products, names, UPC codes,
descriptions, list prices, etc. Right now we rely on information
mailed (or emailed) to us telling us of an impending product change.

I didn't see such a transaction.
Worse case I need to contact our manufacturers and request a product
file sent to me in csv format, or something.

Thanks,
Walter
