Thane Hubbell wrote a book called "Learn COBOL in 24 Hours." (I'm pretty
sure it's still in print).
However, based on our experiences here as you have summarized, I have to
believe some purchasers were terribly disappointed to learn the book is
organized into twenty-four one-hour lessons......
