You don't say who you got the message from. If it's from Target, it is
possible
that Target had been paying for all "non-GXS customer" traffic and has now
declined to do so. If you're paying your own way, as in you're paying your VAN
and they're interconnecting to GXS which is Target's VAN (and that's an
assumption) no way can they stop you, so I'm guessing it's some other
variation. It's also possible Target has stopped being GXS's customer and
thus,
no payment for what was to you "free" communication.

Check first with whomever sent you the message for clarification. Then
validate
your actual communication path to Target. Then check to see who's been paying
for the traffic between you and Target. These answers will help you understand
your options.

Good Luck,
Leah

Subject: [EDI-L] Target Australia Interconnect termination

I received this message last night and fail to find the logic in it.

GXS, at least for Target is Australia, is dropping support of any
interconnects?
We use Sterling and interconnect to GXS and apparently for Target customers
this
will no longer be allowed.

Has anyone seen a VAN refusing interconnect traffic? This is something new to
me.

I will attempt to set up direct AS/2 with Target-AU because I really have no
intention of becoming a customer of GXS. I would prefer the AS/2 direct but
just found this strange.

(notice the timing as well)

Here is the message:

"Our EDI connection to you has been coming in via a GXS interconnect. From the
1st September 2010, these messages will begin to fail in the GXS system. GXS
will only be passing on messages to Target for their Suppliers that are GXS
customers."
